A Stratego Story
In three rounds you play three phases – Deployment, Intelligence and Mission – and you win if you conquer the opposing flag or are nearest to it after three rounds. In the deployment phase, you place a face-down soldier card under each mission card, in ascending order, the Sergeant (4) can be placed anywhere. In the Intelligence phase, the top Intel card is revealed as current secret information and you place an Intel token on each mission card listed on the Intel card, but not the Sergeant. In the Mission card you take all information into account and take turns to find out which soldier is beneath each of the opposing mission cards; deception tokens can be played. Correct guessing gives points to move the infiltration tower, and the abilities of the soldier cannot be activated. Wrong guessing allows the opponent to activate the soldier’s abilities and maybe gives them infiltration points. Ten infiltration points activate the Double Agent; if he is in front of the fortress and may be moved, the flag is conquered. Rules for team play are included.
