Polynesians want to escape the volcano, settle new islands and try to complete tide cards. In the Action phase of a round, you take one action in turn – Explore by placing a ship and paying costs OR Travelling by moving tribe members on explored sea routes OR Populate by entering tribe members from your board to an island OR Fish with fishing either fish or shells. After three actions per player, the Maintenance Phase begins; the starting player draws lava cubes from the bag for Volcano Eruption, the 6^th red cube ends the game. They also select one type of resource which all players must return to common stock. Then all players receive resources from islands with their tribe members, type according to symbol. When the 6^th red lava cube is drawn, the volcano erupts and destroys the main island and the three islands next to it. Tribe members on those islands are placed on player boards; then you calculate victory points from free slots on the board, symbols on islands, island tiles with symbols and points from meeting requirements of tide card in the display.
